Vision

Strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and resilience of Indonesian Muslim families in Hong Kong as ethnic minorities and contributing socially to those in need of assistance.

Mission

  1. Building Indonesian Muslim and Other Muslim family brotherhood with the concepts of ta’aruf, tafahum, ta’awun and takaful
  2. Develop discussion and consultation forums to increase the resilience of Muslim families in Hong Kong
  3. Organizing activities for Indonesian Muslim and other Muslim children and youth to strengthen the sense of brotherhood among them.
  4. Organizing social activities and legal advocacy to support ethnic minorities in Hong Kong who need assistance.

Meet the Board of Directors

He graduated with a Master of Technology degree in Telecommunications from the University of Indonesia (UI) in Jakarta in 2001. Since 1993, he has worked as an engineer at Telkom Indonesia. In addition to his employment, he is actively involved in the missionary organization focused on Al Qur’an Education (BKPAKSI) in Depok City, West Java. Starting in 2017, Telkom assigned him to manage the Telecommunications Network at their Hong Kong branch office, known as Telin Hong Kong. Alhamdulillah, shortly after our arrival in Hong Kong, I had the opportunity to meet one of the founders of IMAH, Mr. Roby Firmansjah, and actively participated in every da’wah activity organized by IMAH. Besides his involvement in managing Friday night Halaqoh at IMAH, he collaborates with Mr. Didi in various da’wah initiatives supported by multicultural organizations in Hong Kong, including MCHK (Moslem Council Hong Kong) and Serving Islam. Additionally, he serves as a mentor in the Children Development Fund (CDF) program through East Education. His career has positively impacted many Indonesian workers by providing them with international vocational education, contributing to the development of IMAH.Through his career, he has empowered many Indonesian workers by providing them with international vocational education. This, in turn, will drive the development of IMAH.

Addy Kurnia Komara

He was born and grew up in Indonesia. He worked as an IT consultant in Jakarta until his company relocated him to Hong Kong in the year 2000. He still currently works in IT space for an airline in Hong Kong. He is widely known by the Indonesian community by his childhood name, Didi or Pak Didi (Pak is a title of respect in Indonesian). Not long after his relocation, he started to have concerns on problems faced by the Indonesian migrant workers that could have been easily avoided by better knowledge & education. He became active in spending weekends in social and religious activities mostly with the Indonesian community. Being passionate in learning himself, he regularly delivers classes primarily on Islamic basic tenets (aqidah). He and his wife Medya (whom he refers to as his dakwah sidekick) are both advisors of a migrant workers’ organization in Hong Kong.

He received his Bacherlor's degree for Management from the University of Indonesia and attended the Magister Management Program from Universitas Padjadjaran.

He now pursues a career in finance and has been in the industry for almost 20 years. He currently leads one of Indonesian's financial institution in Hong Kong.

On top of that, he obtained a Master’s degree in Islamic Economics and Finance from the University of Indonesia. He has been a social activist for 15 years and has worked in Dompet Dhuafa, Indonesia’s largest philanthropic zakat institute. He then returned to Jakarta and worked for several multinational companies. He spent his years essentially in an Islamic school where his interest in studying his religion developed. He found the nearest mosque in his neighborhood to learn about Islam.
He graduated from Lembaga Pendidikan Penerbangan Udara (LPPU) in 1979, and started his career with Garuda Indonesia where he reached captaincy. He then joined Qatar Airways, Virgin Nigeria and is now with a Hong Kong-based airline. His da’wah work began in 1999 at Al-Mukhlishin in a local community where he lived. He has years of international vocational training under his belt, and attended workshops and seminars in Finland, Australia, France, China etc. His rich experience has given him a strong sense of cultural intelligence.

He graduated from Lembaga Pendidikan Penerbangan Udara (LPPU) in 1979, and started his career with Garuda Indonesia where he reached captaincy. He then joined Qatar Airways, Virgin Nigeria and is now with a Hong Kong-based airline. His da’wah work began in 1999 at Al-Mukhlishin in a local community where he lived. He has years of international vocational training under his belt, and attended workshops and seminars in Finland, Australia, France, China etc. His rich experience has given him a strong sense of cultural intelligence.
